The first Masters of the Universe trailer has given fans a menacing glimpse at Jared Leto’s Skeletor.

Decked out in a dark hood, glowing red eyes, and a skeletal face ripped straight from the classic toyline, Leto’s Skeletor is a far cry from campy versions of the past.

This take looks terrifying, powerful, and cinematic.

The trailer has yet to give fans the voice of Leto as Skeletor, and it’s unknown if the film will feature the signature cackle from the animated series, which became famous in memes.

Directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee, Kubo and the Two Strings), the film launches in theaters June 5, 2026, and brings a modern, high-stakes version of the Masters of the Universe to the big screen.

The Evil Forces of Skeletor
The trailer teases Skeletor’s brutal power and dark sorcery, including scenes of him conjuring purple lightning and clashing with He-Man in an epic throne room battle.
