In a recent interview, Aquaman and The Conjuring director James Wan made it known that he thought the idea of doing a horror version of Batman would be pretty cool, but he never said he wanted to direct the Dark Knight.

Some of the clickbait sites ran with it, and there is now even a rumor that Wan wanted to direct The Batman, but it’s not true.

James Wan took to Twitter to respond to a fan with mention it was all just hypothetical talk.

“No, I don’t. It was a hypothetical answer to a hypothetical question. Thank you,” James Wan tweeted.

The Batman was first going to be directed by Ben Affleck, but after he left, now Matt Reeves is developing the movie, with it said to involved a younger version of the character and a younger actor.

WB has yet to make an official announcement or give it a release date, but The Batman has been said to start filming early next year.

James Wan’s Aquaman hits Dec. 21 and by all accounts, it is going to be a blockbuster. The movie already opened huge in China and early reviews offer it’s a pretty sweet movie.

Wan’s other projects in development include a new live-action Mortal Kombat movie, the DC Universe Swamp Thing series, a new Anabelle, The Conjuring 3 and more.
