Idris Elba plays the all-seeing eye of Asgard with Heimdall, the cosmic watcher from a distance who returns for Thor: Ragnarok this November.
âI like that I have a little part in Thor. Iâm neither movie star or day player. It allows me to do other things I love. The last one [Ragnarok] was fun. The others werenât fun. Theyâre work. But on this one, Taika [Waititi, the director] was great,â Idris Elba said.
Idris Elba then continues with mention of wanting a larger MCU role.
âI wish I was more present in the Marvel family. I like what I have, but I also wish that I had a bigger character in the Marvel universe. Itâs been great, but I kinda think I need a bit more. I want to be a superhero. I like the idea of that,â Idris Elba said.
The article also notes that Idris Elba hasnât been approached for a role in Black Panther or asked to play any other character; so if weâll have to wait and see if Marvel has more plans for the actor.
Idris Elba is a big fan-favorite to play Green Lantern John Stewart in the DCEU, so he could always jump ship.
