In what isn’t too big of a surprise, it’s confirmed the Guardians of the Galaxy will be appearing in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Back last August saw Chris Pratt tease an appearance in Thor: Love and Thunder and now Vin Diesel confirms the Guardians of the Galaxy while promoting the release of Bloodshot.

“Thor will also, the director talked to me, about how Thor will incorporate some of the Guardians of the Galaxy, which will be very interesting, nobody knows, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything,” Vin Diesel told the CBS TV station network-owned pop culture web site.

Vin Diesel also teased a new version of Groot (maybe one that can talk more than three words?).

“I only have two words about that character and that is: Alpha Groot,” said Diesel.

Guardians of the Galaxy teaming with Thor

Last we saw of the Guardians of the Galaxy was at the end of The Avengers: Endgame when they were going in search of Gamora, which saw Chris Hemsworth as Thor tailing along for the ride. Originally, it was thought Thor would be appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy 3, but as a result of the James Gunn fiasco, Guardians has been pushed back with Thor: Love and Thunder getting released first, so obviously Taika Waititi needs to explain what happens between Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Regarding what Chris Pratt had to say last August, MTV caught up with the Star-Lord actor at the D23 Expo, and when asked if we will see Peter Quill before Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Pratt replied with a big smile on his face, “I know the answer to that, but I can’t tell you.”

Thor: Love and Thunder has a November 5, 2021 release also starring Natalie Portman as Jane Foster and Female Thor, with Emma Thompson back as Valkyrie, Korg also returns, and Batman actor Christian Bale is confirmed as the villain.
