As we inch closer to the official reveal of GTA 6, rumors are swirling, and the latest leaks suggest Rockstar’s upcoming game could be its most ambitious yet.
Popular insider LegacyKillaHD took to X (formerly Twitter) earlier this month, dropping some exciting details about what fans can expect. Here’s a breakdown of the info the X user and YouTuber shared about Grand Theft Auto 6.
A Massive World Full of Side Content
According to LegacyKillaHD, GTA 6 is shaping up to be a massive open world packed with a ton of side content. Not only will the game feature sprawling countryside landscapes and small towns, but players can expect plenty of engaging missions and mini-games. The world is said to be larger than Red Dead Redemption 2’s map, which was already impressive in its own right.
“The game is massive, full of a shit load of side content. Lot of countryside & towns.” – LegacyKillaHD
The game is massive, full of a shit load of side content. Lot of countryside & towns. Main story is shorter than Red Dead 2, one central theme from a few sources is criminals figuring things out. Family struggles. Sounded like a more grounded story to me but…

A shorter Main Story with Family Struggles
Despite the huge open world, the main storyline is reportedly shorter than that of Red Dead Redemption 2. However, it won’t skimp on emotional depth. The plot is rumored to focus heavily on criminal families, personal struggles, and navigating the chaos of crime life. Early leaks suggest that the narrative will be more grounded, offering a balance of realism and the signature madness GTA is known for.
Lucia, one of the two playable characters, is rumored to have a central role, with separate introduction missions for her and Jason, the other protagonist. This echoes the dual-protagonist setup from GTA V but adds fresh dynamics to the character interplay.
“Lucia is the central character of this story, as Michael is to 5.” – LegacyKillaHD
AFAIK Lucia is the central character of this story, as Michael is to 5. A lot of the intro was already leaked on Reddit & by a prominent community member that passed it off as speculation. Lucia/Jason have separate intro missions. There's corrupt cops/a chief, russians create…

Fast & Furious-Inspired Missions
In terms of missions, fans of high-octane action are in for a treat. According to the leaks, some missions in GTA 6 will take inspiration from Fast & Furious, including one reminiscent of the iconic vault heist scene from Fast 5. This is sure to bring a level of cinematic excitement and adrenaline to the gameplay that GTA fans crave.
“There’s still a lot of the usual insanity in missions. Heard some are inspired by the Fast & Furious movies, like there’s supposedly something like the below vault chase scene from Fast 5.” – LegacyKillaHD

Corrupt Cops, Russians, and More GTA Staples
Like any GTA game, players can expect plenty of action involving corrupt cops, Russian criminals, and the chaotic underworld. While these are staples of the franchise, it’s good to know GTA 6 won’t stray too far from its roots, even as it innovates in other areas.

Online Content and Cut Features
Fans of GTA Online will be pleased to hear that Rockstar has been working on the online mode for years. While the rumors suggest some content and ideas, like voiced protagonists for online, may have been scrapped, the multiplayer component is still expected to deliver an immersive experience. Rockstar has reportedly struggled with achieving 60fps, but many of the fidelity and performance options from GTA V will return.
“Online has been worked on for years now. A lot of the fidelity/performance options from GTA V are supposed to be here.” – LegacyKillaHD
One dev said this was the best project they've worked on at Rockstar, in terms of not being overworked to death. Lot of vets were ready to go after RDR2 & some were happy Dan left. Also one had unkind words for Lazlo.

Basketball Minigame a part of final release?
Interestingly, one of the more unique features—a basketball minigame—was reportedly in development at Rockstar’s Toronto studio which hasn’t been seen since the release of GTA San Andreas twenty years ago. However, the basketball feature might not make it into the final release of GTA 6.
Basketball minigame was worked on at the Toronto studio. It was on the chopping block at the end of 2023. Always the difficulty talking about a game active in development. Lot more RDR2 gameplay in this than I think some expect.

Developers Speak Out: The Best Project They’ve Worked On
Another interesting takeaway from the leaks is the sentiment among developers. According to the insider, some Rockstar veterans, who were ready to leave after the grueling development of Red Dead Redemption 2, have stayed on for GTA 6. One developer even called it the best project they’ve worked on in terms of not being overworked.

A Release Date? 2026 Still Possible
When it comes to the release date, there’s still speculation. While some leaks point to a 2026 launch, nothing has been confirmed and recently there is still talk of the 2025 release date. LegacyKillaHD emphasized that the development is still ongoing and warned that speculation shouldn’t be taken as fact.
“2026 is still very much on the table, but there’s a reason I never said anything definitive.” – LegacyKillaHD
Now believe me. Believe me not. I'll speculate on stuff in videos. And leave it there. Also not saying more because spoilers and was planning a video with this info but I'll let this thread speak for itself instead. 2026 is still very much on the table but there's a reason I…
