While doing press for his latest movie, Live By Night, Ben Affleck offers an update for the Batman movie, which is a bit more positive than recent remarks.
Ben Affleck has been stating that the Batman movie isn't necessarily a go unless they get the script right, but in an interview with IGN offers that they are ahead of the curve.
"It's the same thing as any other movie. It's like, 'When I'm excited about it. We're working on a script. When we get there. We're gonna make it' " Affleck said about the Batman movie. "We're really excited. There's great stuff in it. Now, it needs to get better and better.
"It's the same way I felt about this movie [Live by Night] when I was prepping it," Affleck continued. "It's just that no one was asking me questions because nobody gave a sh-t because there wasn't any click-throughs, but it took me a year plus to get this movie ready to launch. Hopefully it won't take me that long for Batman, but we're working. I think we are ahead of the curve, and we're excited."
Affleck also says he looks forward to people seeing Justice League when it comes out in November.
The Batman movie currently has no release date. Ben Affleck is co-writing the script with Geoff Johns and is supposed to direct. Joe Manganiello is also set to star in the Batman movie as Deathstroke, and Jeremy Irons is returning as Alfred.
Update: Ben Affleck confirms he is directing Batman.
Live By Night opens January 13th.
