While doing press for his latest movie, Live By Night, Ben Affleck offers an update for the Batman movie, which is a bit more positive than recent remarks.
Ben Affleck has been stating that the Batman movie isnât necessarily a go unless they get the script right, but in an interview with IGN offers that they are ahead of the curve.
âItâs the same thing as any other movie. Itâs like, âWhen Iâm excited about it. Weâre working on a script. When we get there. Weâre gonna make itâ â Affleck said about the Batman movie. âWeâre really excited. Thereâs great stuff in it. Now, it needs to get better and better.
âItâs the same way I felt about this movie [Live by Night] when I was prepping it,â Affleck continued. âItâs just that no one was asking me questions because nobody gave a sh-t because there wasnât any click-throughs, but it took me a year plus to get this movie ready to launch. Hopefully it wonât take me that long for Batman, but weâre working. I think we are ahead of the curve, and weâre excited.â
Affleck also says he looks forward to people seeing Justice League when it comes out in November.
The Batman movie currently has no release date. Ben Affleck is co-writing the script with Geoff Johns and is supposed to direct. Joe Manganiello is also set to star in the Batman movie as Deathstroke, and Jeremy Irons is returning as Alfred.
Update: Ben Affleck confirms he is directing Batman.
Live By Night opens January 13th.
