Back in 1986, Star Wars director George Lucas executive produced the Howard The Duck movie, which is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
Then last year saw James Gunn include Howard in the post-credit scene for Guardians of the Galaxy.
While Gunn has said there are no plans for a Howard The Duck movie, George Lucas recently stated he thinks Marvel will remake it.
“Even Howard the Duck is a cult classic,” Lucas said at the Borough of Manhattan Community College theater for the Tribeca Film Festival, reports THR. “I have a feeling that Marvel’s gonna redo it because of the technology they have today.”
Lucas had reservations back in ’86 about Howard The Duck being any success as “you can’t put a dwarf in a duck suit and make it work!” However, now Lucas has changed his tune.
“It’s a digital duck. When you have a digital duck, you can do anything. You can make it act,” Lucas said of Gunn’s version.
Marvel Comics also recently launched a Howard The Duck comic book.
