Amazon’s ‘Gen V’ Takes A Swipe At Elon Musk: Kills The Goat

In Gen V Season 2, Episode 4, a troubling moment stands out. The villain Dean Cipher, during a training exercise, brings on stage a goat named “Elon” and instructs Marie to use her blood-manipulation power on it. The creature is levitated, then violently explodes and is dismembered on camera.

As Marie first questions Cipher about killing the goat – “what if I kill, Elon?” – he responds to her, “That’s why we name them a–holes.”

Elon Musk Named in Disturbing Scene

An X user raised alarm over the scene, writing: “Why is Amazon Prime allowing content that incites violence toward Elon Musk? In Gen V Season 2, Episode 4, there’s a disturbing scene where the villain, Dean Cipher, makes Marie practice her blood powers on a goat named ‘Elon Musk.’ Eventually, the goat explodes.”

The user continued: “Now, the problem isn’t just the gore (Gen V and The Boys are always violent). The real issue is the choice to name the goat ‘Elon Musk.’ That means Amazon Prime is deliberately using Musk’s name, one of the most famous real people alive, in a grotesque context: tying his identity to animal cruelty, mockery, and gore.”

Musk Responds

Musk caught wind of the post and jokingly replied, “That’s fine, I blew up a small hotdog called Jeff Bezos, so I guess we’re even.”

Eric Kripke’s Political Agenda

Worth a mention is that Eric Kripke, creator and showrunner of The Boys, who also writes and produces Gen V, has never hidden his political agenda.

He’s openly said Homelander is a Trump analogue, and that the show “wears its politics on its sleeve” while showcasing the “absurdities” of the right.

Kripke also had a major meltdown when Trump won the election.

He has also admitted the show didn’t originally intend to mirror real politics, but in today’s climate, he feels the parallels became inevitable.

Now that agenda has extended into Gen V.
