Female Ghostbusters Character Descriptions

The latest issue of Total Film Magazine features director Paul Feig describing each of the characters from the upcoming Ghostbusters reboot:

Melissa McCarthy is Abby Yates
The brains of the group, Feige describes Abby as a “paranormal researcher, supernatural scientist, entity trapper.”

Kate McKinnon as Jillian Holzmann
Director Paul Feig says she’s a “nuclear engineer, munitions expert, proton wrangler.”

Kristen Wig as Erin Gilbert
According to Feig, Erin is a “particle physicist, academic firebrand, spectral warrior.”

Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan
And finally, the braun. Feig reveals Patty’s a “ghost tracker, municipal historian, metaphysical commando.”

Bill Murray also described the cast as a “great hope” and offered, “I like those girls a lot. I mean, I really do. They are tough to say no to.”

“Ghostbusters” has a July 15, 2016 release directed by Paul Feig starring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Chris Hemsworth, Neil Casey will play the villain of the movie, and Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver are confirmed to return.
