It’s learned the first celebrity has stayed true to their word as Ellen DeGeneres has moved out of the U.S. following the Donald Trump landslide victory over Kamala Harris.
It’s reported that Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have moved to Great Britain.
It’s expected that DeGeneres’ Montecito mansion located north of Los Angeles will be placed on the market along with her other U.S. properties. Recently, it has been reported that the actress sold two mega-mansions for $32 million and $96 million, respectively.
A number of other celebs and comic book writers have also been having epic meltdowns including showrunner of The Boys, Eric Kripke, but so far, none have moved out of the U.S. except for DeGeneres.
Why did Ellen DeGeneres leave the U.S.?
We get the info on Ellen DeGeneres moving out of the country via The Wrap.
The report says Donald Trump winning the 2024 presidential election was the couple’s primary motivation.
Ellen DeGeneres has also faced recent controversy due to being “kicked out of show business” following reports about her toxic workplace behavior and poor treatment of employees in her Ellen show, so that is likely even more motivation to leave.
Where is Ellen DeGeneres now living?
According to a source for the site, DeGeneres and de Rossi have moved to the Cotswolds, a rural area in south-central England, which is around 100 miles or so west of London.
DeGeneres recently released her For Your Approval special on Netflix where she joked and touched upon her dismissal from Ellen and Hollywood.
“I decided to take up gardening,” DeGeneres said. “I got chickens. Let me see what else I can tell you about that’s been going on … Oh yeah, I got kicked out of show business … Yeah, the ‘Be kind’ girl wasn’t kind. That was the headline.”
She added, “Had I ended my show by saying, ‘Go f–k yourselves,’ people would have been pleasantly surprised to find out I’m kind,” the comedian joked.”
