Dwayne Johnson And Black Adam Land In Netflix Top 10

Joining David Ayer’s Suicide Squad, now the Dwayne Johnson Black Adam movie has landed in the Netflix Top 10.

Warner Bros. Discovery recently licensed Netflix a bunch of DC content, also including The Batman, the James Gunn The Suicide Squad, the Shazam! movies, Whedon’s Justice League, Batman vs. Superman, Man of Steel, and Birds of Prey.

David Ayer’s Suicide Squad was first to crack the “Top 10 Movies in the U.S. Today” list at #6 and has moved up a couple of spots to #4.

As of Wednesday, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam debuted at #8 and as of Thursday moved up a spot to #7.

Friday Update: Black Adam moves to #5.

What about the rest of DC?

The Batman? Gunn’s Suicide Squad? Shazam?! Nowhere to be found.

The three movies are from the current creators behind the DC reboot. Matt Reeves is developing his own Batman universe. James Gunn and Peter Safran (Shazam producer) are developing the DCU.

Meanwhile, David Ayer is pretty adamant his “Ayer Cut” of Suicide Squad will be released.

Black Adam is the best DC movie in 5 years

The Dwayne Johnson Black Adam movie? It’s the best-performing DC movie since the release of Aquaman in 2018.

Black Adam has beaten out Wonder Woman 1984, Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, Shazam: Fury of the Gods, The Flash, and Blue Beetle. Jason Momo’s Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is also looking like the next DC bomb, so Dwayne Johnson just might be the true king of DC.

Johnson also wanted to take over DC films but was beaten out by Gunn. Interestingly enough, Gunn’s DCU and Superman: Legacy sound very similar to Johnson’s Black Adam movie and what he had planned for DC.

I actually wouldn’t mind seeing Gunn bring Johnson in to the DCU. Black Adam would definitely fit, the JSA would be included, and they could just ignore that post-credit scene.

Johnson also said Black Adam was a success, it didn’t lose money, and worth pointing out is it never got a Chinese release where The Rock is big, and the producers also said they have a sequel ready to go, so why not?
