Fans of the Dune universe are in for a treat this fall as Max gears up for the release of the highly anticipated series Dune: Prophecy.
Slated to debut in November on HBO and Max, the campaign begins in full force at New York Comic Con (NYCC), where fans will be immersed in the world of the Bene Gesserit through special events, panels, and exclusive screenings.
Dune: Prophecy Experience at NYCC
Kicking off on Thursday, October 17, Max, in collaboration with Droga5, will unveil The Dune: Prophecy Experience at NYCC.
This interactive fan activation, set in the 4th floor Pavilion of the Javits Center, will transport attendees to Wallach IX, a planet critical to the Bene Gesserit. Participants will undergo a series of trials reminiscent of the Sisterhood’s intense training, with successful fans being rewarded with exclusive Dune-themed NYCC merchandise.
Panel Featuring Cast and Creatives
Later that same day, the Empire Stage will host a special panel featuring showrunner Alison Schapker, executive producer Jordan Goldberg, and stars Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, and Travis Fimmel, among others.
Fans can expect to see the official trailer for Dune: Prophecy, which will debut during the panel and be released globally right after. The panel will also offer insights into the making of the series and what audiences can look forward to in this exploration of the Dune universe.
Pre-Premiere Fan Screenings at Alamo Drafthouse
In addition to the NYCC events, Max will partner with Alamo Drafthouse to bring Dune: Prophecy to select theaters on Thursday, November 7, with pre-premiere fan screenings. These events will include themed menus, trivia, and other exciting elements for fans to enjoy ahead of the series’ official release.

- Max, in partnership with Droga5, will unveil “The Dune: Prophecy Experience” in the 4th floor Pavilion of the Javits Center. This beautifully rendered activation will transport participants to the mysterious world of Wallach IX, where The Voice will command them to undergo a series of trials reflecting the Sisterhood’s rigorous training methods. Those who heed the commands of the Sisterhood and successfully complete the challenges will be rewarded with exclusive NYCC swag.
Thursday, October 17 (3:00-4:00pm ET) – NYCC Cast and Creatives Panel on the Empire Stage
- Showrunner and executive producer Alison Schapker, executive producer Jordan Goldberg, and cast members Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea and Jessica Barden will reveal the official trailer and tease what fans can expect from the new series. Immediately following its in-room debut, the trailer will be released globally to the public.
Thursday, November 7 – National Alamo Drafthouse Fan Screenings
- In partnership with Alamo Drafthouse, Max will host a national pre-premiere fan screening program featuring themed menu items, pre-screening trivia, and other unique elements.
Dune: Prophecy – A Deep Dive into the Origins of the Bene Gesserit
Set 10,000 years before the rise of Paul Atreides, Dune: Prophecy follows the story of two Harkonnen sisters as they navigate the forces that will shape the future of humankind and lead to the creation of the Bene Gesserit. The show delves into one of the most pivotal periods in the Dune universe, bringing new life to Frank Herbert’s iconic world.
Executive produced by Alison Schapker, Diane Ademu-John, and Anna Foerster, who also directed multiple episodes, including the premiere, the series boasts an impressive creative team. Joining them are Brian Herbert, Kevin J. Anderson, and other notable names from the Dune legacy. The series is co-produced by HBO and Legendary Television, which also produces the film franchise, including the critically acclaimed movies Dune and Dune: Part Two.
Alongside the November series premiere, Max will also launch a companion podcast offering fans additional insights from the cast and creatives, further expanding the world of Dune: Prophecy.
