DuckTales is returning to Disney XD with a new animated TV series.

DuckTales debuted back in 1987 and ran for four seasons with 100 episodes. The popular animated series features the Uncle of Donald Duck, Scooge McDuck, and Donald's three nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie. The new DuckTales will also feature Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), Mrs. Beakley, and Webbigail Vanderquack.
DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history,”Marc Buhaj, Senior Vice President, Programming, and General Manager, Disney XD, previously said. “It drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults. Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.
DuckTales comes from some of the brightest animation-minded minds at Disney XD: Executive producer Matt Youngberg (Ben 10: Omniverse), story editor/co-producer Francisco Angones (Wander Over Yonder), and art director Sean Jimenez (Gravity Falls). Season 1 will consist of 21 half-hour episodes and two one-hour specials and debuts next Summer.
