First Look At Don Johnson In Watchmen

Take a first look at HBO’s Watchmen as set images have hit the net revealing the role of Don Johnson.

HBO earlier announced the cast of their new Watchmen TV series, which mentioned the Miami Vice actor.

Now as Watchmen is filming, Don Johnson is revealed to be playing what looks to be a Captain in the Tulsa police department.

Pics also reveal that some of the officers are wearing masks for some reason?

As Damon Lindelof noted, the HBO Watchmen series is going to be different than the graphic novel, which doesn’t feature Tulsa, Oklahoma; so it remains to be seen what exactly is going on in this Don Johnson scene.

“We have no desire to ‘adapt’ the twelve issues Mr. Moore and Mr. Gibbons created thirty years ago,” Lindelof wrote in a letter to fans (read below). “Those issues are sacred ground and they will not be retread nor recreated nor reproduced nor rebooted.”

Lindelof continued: “They will, however, be remixed. Because the bass lines in those familiar tracks are just too good and we’d be fools not to sample them. Those original twelve issues are our Old Testament. When the New Testament came along it did not erase what came before it. Creation. The Garden of Eden. Abraham and Isaac. The Flood. It all happened. And so it will be with Watchmen. The Comedian died. Dan and Laurie fell in love. Ozymandias saved the world and Dr. Manhattan left it just after blowing Rorschach to pieces in the bitter cold of Antarctica.”

In addition to Don Johnson, the HBO Watchmen series also stars Regina King, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens, and Andrew Howard, with their roles to be revealed.
