With X-Men: Apocalypse getting a less than stellar response at the box office, with Logan being Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart’s last movie, with the main actors’ contracts running out, and with the recent introduction of younger actors in key roles, it’s now being said FOX is rebooting their X-Men film franchise.
It is said the new X-Men movie script is being written with Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy “optimistically in mind,” but an insider notes that it may not be worth it for FOX to sign new deals with the actors as it would require a hefty price. We can guess if Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy do sign on for a new X-Men movie, that it may be a soft reboot.
The report also says Deadpool 3 is in development, the Channing Tatum Gambit movie is still in the works, and the Josh Boone New Mutants movie could film as early as the Spring.
Interestingly enough, a rumor a while back mentioned Singer would be gone, and that an X-Men reboot would take place within the Marvel Universe, leading to an X-Men and Avengers crossover.
