Matt Fraction Admits Marvel Studios Interferes With The Comic Books

It’s not as if we didn’t know, but the former writer on Thor, Matt Fraction, comes out and admits that the Marvel Studios plans for their movies has a hand in the direction of the comic books.

And if you read Fraction’s Thor, it explains a lot, and probably a lot of other books as well.

No offense, Matt – loved the initial few issues – but it seemed to go downhill.

Now we know why.

MTV posted a promotional video featuring Jason Aaron and Marvel EIC Axel Alonso on Aaron’s new Thor: God Of Thunder Marvel NOW! comic book.

Aaron mentions how he has a huge pile of Thor comics to read to study up on the character, with Alonso saying how different Aaron’s direction on Thor is compared to Fraction’s.

Then it cuts to Fraction who says that what’s nice for Aaron is that he doesn’t have any movie guidelines to follow.

“When I got the book, there was a Thor movie coming and there were these kind of guidelines that I had to execute under and Jason’s got none of that,” Fraction said. “So it’s just kind of pure Jason coming out in the page.”

This might also explain why Aaron’s Thor is being so well-received by critics and fans alike as Aaron isn’t hindered by a set of directions.

Check it our for yourself below, and regarding no guidelines for Jason Aaron with Thor 2 coming out, we’re not exactly so sure about that (Editor’s note: link to a sleeveless Thor image has been removed).
