Cloverfield 3 Title May Have Leaked Online & Viral Campaign Kicks Off

The new Cloverfield movie is due out in theaters April 20th, and while not all that much is known about the film, the official title may have accidently leaked online.

A listing on LinkedIn from a Lighting Artist working on the movie has it that the third film in the franchise is titled “Cloverfield Station.”

The title seems to fit with the description of the movie: After a scientific experiment aboard the space station involving a particle accelerator has unexpected results, the astronauts find themselves isolated. Following their horrible discovery, the space station crew must fight for survival.

In addition, a viral campaign recently started for Cloverfield 3, which marked the first movie’s 10th anniversary on January 18th.

Two websites have launched offering a message and a video (via reddit).

The website for the fictional Japanese media company, Tagruato, has been updated with some sort of message that needed to be unscrambled:

“Tokyo – January 18 2018: Tagruato has begun development on a revolutionary new energy technology in what Ceo Garo Yoshida called a technological great leap forward for our planet. This renewable technology will take at least 4 years to complete along with another six years International regulatory bodies to bring the powerful revolutionary energy source by April 18 2028”

A second site found in the message also has the following video:

Cloverfield 3 is directed by Julius Onah, produced by JJ Abrams, written by Star Trek Beyond’s Doug Jung and stars David Oyelowo, John Ortiz, Elizabeth Debicki, Daniel BrĂŒhl, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chris O’Dowd, Ziyi Zhang and Daniel Bruhl.
