Marvel Studios shows off three new Thor: Love and Thunder images featuring Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, and Pom Klementieff.
Portman is featured as the Female Thor, Hemsworth sports a muscle shirt as Thor, and two members of the Guardians of the Galaxy include Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, and Pom Klementieff is back as Mantis.
The images come via the latest issue of Total Film Magazine which has a featured article on the flick including that Kevin Feige said news about Marvel’s next big plans is coming soon.
The issue also features director Taika Waititi talking about the movie as well as the cast, with Waititi describing the film as “like a detective-thriller-romcom” and the article the following:
Picking up after the events of Endgame, Thor ditches the dadbod to for a godbod while touring with the Guardians, finding himself in soul-searching mode. His world is rocked when ex-girlfriend Jane returns, *and* she’s got his beloved hammer. Meanwhile, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie is serving as the king of New Asgard, and Gorr is on a mission to right the wrongs of what he sees as the gods’ selfishness.
In keeping with the spirit of Waititi’s previous Marvel movie, expect vibrant colours, rowdy humour and cameos aplenty (including Russell Crowe as Zeus). But, don’t expect a simple Ragnarok rerun.
Thor: Love and Thunder opens July 8; tickets are now on sale.
Thor: Love and Thunder finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
