With DC currently whooping Marvel Studios' keister in terms of female superhero movies, an update on Marvel's Captain Marvel movie comes from Twitter.
Captain Marvel Update: Studio getting treatment on script soon. Meetings with directing candidates to follow but not till the new year

There's no worries as Captain Marvel isn't due out until March 8, 2019 and stars Brie Larson.
For whatever reason, Marvel Studios doesn't seem to keen on the idea of a Black Widow Scarlett Johansson movie, even though lots of fans have been requesting it. I believe Johansson's Lucy performed better at the box office than both Thor and Captain America, so it's not like a Black Widow movie would be a failure of any kind. Marvel Studios does have the Ant-Man and The Wasp movie in the works with Evangeline Lilly for 2018, so at least there is that.
Regarding DC, they just announced a new all-female villain movie starring Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn with Gotham City Sirens, which will also feature Catwoman and Poison Ivy, and have Wonder Woman starring Gal Gadot coming out next year. I'll also add Faora was pretty bad a– in Man of Steel, so on a side note, hopefully she gets free from the Phantom Zone.
