We get a first look at Giancarlo Esposito in Captain America: Brave New World thanks to a set pic that shows off the actor and the character.
Giancarlo Esposito recently announced he joined the MCU in a mysterious role.
“All the fans, all of you out there who really want to see me in a Marvel movie, that will come true,” Esposito told fans at the recent Mexico City CCXP convention. “I cannot promise you I will be Professor X because, here’s what I think: I think there’s something about being original. We’ve seen different versions of Professor X. Wouldn’t you like to see me play a character in a Marvel movie who is original and new and fresh?”
He added, “So, mark my words, this will happen sooner than you think. I can’t announce it right now but it excites me that you, here in Mexico City at CCXP, will be the first to know this! It’s all happening, baby!”
The actor also said teased he would be appearing first in a movie and then would be getting his own series.
Who is Giancarlo Esposito playing in the MCU?
Previous descriptions for Giancarlo Esposito’s Marvel character have offered he has three guns, three knives, an axe, and a black cape with brown lining.
Descriptions have also said he sports blue-ish hair, but the set image doesn’t feature the actor with blue hair.
The set pic features Giancarlo Esposito looking like a black ops/military character. He has short grey hair, sports sunglasses, wears a long grey/black coat with a brown lining, does have the three knives, is holstering a gun, and wears beige cargo pants with a black belt.

Captain America: Brave New World gets released on February 14, 2025 directed by Julius Onah and also stars Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, and Carl Lumbly.
