The sequel to The Wolverine has founds its villain with Boyd Holbrook.
Deadline reports Boyd Holbrook, known for roles in Narcos, Gone Girl and Hatfields & McCoys, will play the lead villain opposite Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart.
Boyd Holbrook’s character is described as: “a relentless, calculating and intense head of security for a global enterprise who is set against Jackman’s clawed Wolverine/Logan hero.”
It’s been said the movie is supposed to be based on the “Old Man Logan” Marvel Comics storyline; however, as some of those characters are owned by Marvel Studios (Red Skull, Abomination, Hulk, Hawkeye, etc.), it’s possible Holbrook’s character could be an original character created for the movie.
The untitled Wolverine movie has a March 2, 2017 release, so it should begin filming soon, which will be Hugh Jackman’s list, and it’s also been said the film may be rated-R. James Mangold returns to direct.
