Blade: Yann Demange Is Still Gone

Blade: Yann Demange Is Still Gone

Due to what looks to be an error, various sites have been posting articles stating director Yann Demange is still attached to the Mahershala Ali Blade movie.

However, that doesn’t look to be the case, which apparently is due to an error by Deadline that has now been corrected.

Deadline actually confirmed Yann Demange exited Blade as director in June. The site reported at the time: “Director Yann Demange has exited Marvel Studios‘ long-anticipated reboot of Blade, Deadline has confirmed.

On Thursday, Deadline posted an article about how Ryan Reynolds wants a Wesley Snipes Blade movie with a Logan-style send off.

At the bottom of the article, Deadline wrote: “Blade is now set to be directed by Yann Demange and scheduled for release on November 7, 2025.”

This led to various sites and social media accounts writing articles about how Yann Demange is still attached to the Mahershala Ali Blade movie.

However, Deadline has since removed the line from the article.

It seems rather evident it was a mistake as obviously Deadline would have said something to the effect that Yann Demange is back on Blade or even written an article about it. However, that didn’t stop the various sites from running with it. Deadline also didn’t write a correction, which they should have.
