The Batman Movie Rumored To Be Based On Arkham Video Games Again

It’s once again being said that the solo Ben Affleck The Batman movie may be somewhat based on the popular Arkham video games.

We were first told about the possiblity a few years ago, and now Batman On Film is claiming The Batman movie could see Bruce Wayne locked up in Arkham Asylum surrounded by his enemies.

The 2009 Batman: Arkham Asylum video game saw the Joker trap Batman in Arkham where the Caped Crusader fought his way through various villains including Bane, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy and Scarecrow.

There’s already been a rumor that The Batman would feature numerous Batman villains, so the Arkham Asylum connection makes sense, and also at the end of Batman Vs. Superman, we saw Bruce Wayne make mention he still has connections at Arkham and was sending Lex Luthor there.

If they do go the Arkham Asylum route for The Batman, it’s probably safe to assume it won’t be a straight-up adaptation of the video game. Ben Affleck recently said they were going with an original story for The Batman, which would borrow various elements from the comics.

The Batman movie has no announced release date, but we could find out more at this week’s Comic-Con. Affleck recently confirmed an appearance.
