Good news, Web-Heads! You don’t have to wait long to watch Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse at home as the flick is coming to Netflix soon.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is set to premiere on Netflix on October 31!
Sony is behind the movie and a couple of years ago signed an exclusive first pay window licensing deal with Netflix to release its movies on the streaming service.
Tentpoles such as Morbius, Uncharted, Where the Crawdads Sing, and Bullet Train were among the initial 2022 offerings. They are followed by continued entries in Sony Pictures’ rejuvenated slate of IP, including Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse and several more SPE films featuring Marvel characters, including future installments of Venom and Spiderman, and expected follow-ups for the Jumanji and Bad Boys franchises.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse was a big hit in movie theaters as it brought in nearly $700 million which was almost double the first film’s gross.
When does Beyond the Spider-Verse get released?
The third movie, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, is also in development but has been pushed back from its original March 2024 release date.
Writers/producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller offered an update in August that it will be released when it’s ready.
“Those conversations are thankfully above our paygrade, but I can tell you we’re already hard at work on it, and we’ll take the time it takes to make it great,” Lord filled in Digital Spy.
The films use over 100 animators and the sequel ran into issues when the animators left the project before its completion citing unstable working conditions, so hopefully, they can get everything on track.
In addition to the October release of Across The Spider-Verse, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 also gets released this week which is said to be phenomenal and even better than the first game.
