Dwayne Johnson responds to various sites and trolls that are baiting fans regarding the Black Adam box office versus that of Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Everyone likes a good DC vs. Marvel rivalry, but I gotta be on the side of Johnson and agree there is no comparison.
IGN, of course, trolled its audience pointing out that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever already passed the box office of Black Adam, which saw Johnson respond.
“What a neutral post. I love competing, but @IGN you guys are in the biz with us there’s no competition with the established global brand of Black Panther compared to Black Adam & JSA who a year ago no one even heard of. No need to knock us, we’re new babies and have to grow,” said Johnson.
Sorry Marvel fans, Aquaman beats Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Feige’s Marvel zombies love to point out that the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever box office is currently at $546 million while Black Adam is at $366 million.
I actually had this happen in my Facebook group (hardcore fans only) where I deleted a troll’s post and posted one of my own: Aquaman vs Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, as they both feature similar characters.
Aquaman finished with over $1.1 billion at the box office, but Black Panther: Wakanda Forever won’t come anywhere near that.
DC wins. See how that works?
Wakanda Forever is also trailing the first movie by a big-time margin so there is also that, and recently saw a report offer that a whopping 40% of Marvel fans are unhappy, while only 20% of DC fans are unhappy. Another plus in the DC fans’ corner? They spend more money than the chintzy MCU fans.
How about comparing Black Adam to other Marvel movies featuring new characters?
While Marvel fans are pretending they got a win, Black Adam is right in line with flicks such as Shang-Chi ($434M) and Eternals ($402M).
Oh, wait, you argue about the pandemic, right?
Yep, Spider-Man: No Way Home brought in almost $2 billion. You’re right.
And what is hilarious is that the trades are using the pandemic as an excuse for Wakanda Forever‘s box office not living up to expectations. Shazam!
