With Jared Leto returning as the Joker for the Snyder Cut of the Justice League, Zack Snyder offers up he happens to be a big fan of the actor and character.
Zack actually produced the David Ayer Suicide Squad movie which features the debut of Leto as the Clown Prince of Crime and the flick also features Snyder’s choice to play Batman, Ben Affleck, so it’s no wonder Zack is a big fan.
Snyder recently appeared on The Nerd Queens YouTube and talked about the Snyder Cut (check out cool Darkseid and Martian Manhunter images) and was asked about his thoughts on Jared Leto.
“I’m a bit of a fan of Jared Leto,” said Snyder. “Here’s what I can tell you about Joker. He is an incredibly dedicated actor. Just insanely talented. Incredibly like, his attention to detail and wanting to be just so amazing. It’s just the kind of experience you want when you are working with an actor — where the amount of caring is just so… It’s fun for me because I care a fair amount. In an answer to the question, I’m a huge Joker Jared Leto fan. I think he is great.”
The news of the return of Jared Leto as the Joker was announced with the news about Zack Snyder filming new scenes for his Snyder Cut of the Justice League movie in October. In addition to new scenes with the Jared Leto Joker, it’s been said Zack also filmed with Ben Affleck, Amber Heard, Ray Fisher, and Joe Manganiello, and possibly more actors.

Regarding what was filmed with the Jared Leto Joker in the Snyder Cut, it’s thought to be a flashback scene involving the death of Robin.
Way back in 2017, costume manufacturer Douglas J. Stewart revealed that Robin was brutally murdered and then set ablaze by the Joker, so it remains to be seen if Zack will stick with that story.
Recently also saw Zack “like” a fan theory that offered Joker setting Robin on fire might have been the cause of Wayne Manor burning down and that is why the Ben Affleck Batman chose not to rebuild his family home and that Joker knows the true identity of Batman, but chooses not to reveal it to continue his twisted back and forth relationship with Batsy.
The costume manufacturer also said they created the Robin costume that was shown in Batman vs. Superman in a matter of days.
“A bit of detail on Robin’s gauntlet. He was brutally murdered and then set ablaze by the Joker,” revealed Stewart. “The story had to be told in the salvaged costume on display inside the Batcave. Aging and specialty distressing needs to tell these unscripted tales that support the main framework of the film. Here we had to create a Robin Suit in a matter of days. Using what we had and then figure out how to modify it all as well as building the support interior. It was a lot of fun.”
The Snyder Cut gets released on HBO Max in 2021.
