Sony and James Gunn were all set to debut the new horror movie Brightburn at the San Diego Comic-Con, but then the news that Disney had fired Gunn from Marvel Studios and Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was released, so the panel was canceled.
While Disney stated they won’t be rehiring James Gunn, Sony is still moving forward with Brightburn, which is produced by Gunn and his brothers.

James Gunn has now moved over to DC to write and direct the sequel to Suicide Squad.
Regarding Guardians of the Galaxy 3, it is currently up in the air and on permanent hold.
