Some new rumored details hit the net about the upcoming Margot Robbie Birds of Prey movie that includes mention of an epic cameo and plot details.
Warning: Possible spoilers follow.
According to Revenge of the Fans, the movie starts off with each of the individual characters dealing with their own separate issues:
- Black Canary is described as a singer who fights crime at night.
- Huntress is said to have been a killer for the villain of the movie, Black Mask, but learned he killed her family and is now hunting the Black Mask down.
- It’s said Harley Quinn is trying to move on from The Joker, with it further said Joker is only referenced in the film and not seen.
- Renee Montoya, a detective on the Gotham City Police force, is said to be on the trail of both Huntress and Black Canary because of the body count they’ve amassed.
Regarding the plot, as previously revealed, what brings the Birds of Prey together is Cassandra Cain, as she is kidnapped by the Black Mask who believes her to be the perfect assassin. The Black Mask is said to be grooming her to take the spot previously held by Huntress, and Cassandra Cain is described as being similar to Logan‘s X-23, but minus the powers (she’s good at killing).
It’s further said the Birds of Prey save Cassandra Cain prior to the film’s third act where the big battle with Black Mask takes place, with Huntress possibly finally getting her revenge.
Another rumor offered the reason the Birds of Prey form and why Black Mask has a hold over Gotham City is due to the absence of Batman, who hasn’t been seen in years.
Regarding the epic cameo, the site wouldn’t state who it is, but offered it may be too good to be true (my guess is it’s Batgirl, as a solo flick is supposed to happen).
