Female Marvel TV Series In Development By Wonder Woman Writer

It’s learned that a female Marvel TV series is in development at ABC by Wonder Woman writer Allan Heinberg.

No specific details about the new Marvel TV series are known, but it is said to be an hourlong drama based on lesser-known Marvel characters.

Last month saw ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey confirm something new was in development from Marvel for the network, with this female show now looking to be it.

“We’re cooking up a couple things for broadcast. There’s one that I want to talk about and [Marvel TV head] Jeph Loeb won’t let me,” Dungey said.

Deadline notes the Marvel female TV series will fit nicely with ABC’s lineup that strongly appeals to women.

It’s reported that Allan Heinberg, who is under an overall deal at ABC Studios, is executive producing the potential series with Marvel Television’s Jeph Loeb.

It’s also said that launching a new Marvel TV series has been a priority for ABC, with the Allan Heinberg female superhero project emerging as a strong contender from the get-go.

This will mark Marvel TV’s third female series, which follows the ABC Agent Carter series that lasted for one season, and the Netflix Jessica Jones series, which recently released season 2 and has the third season in the works.

Allan Heinberg is also known for writing DC and Marvel Comics including Young Avengers and its sequel, Avengers: The Children’s Crusade.
