American Horror Story Renewed For Season 10

While Season 8 is currently in development, FX announces that American Horror Story has been renewed for Season 10, which follows the network having previously announced the series will have a Season 9.

The news came today at the Television Critics Association, with FX Networks CEO John Landgraf revealing that series creator, Ryan Murphy, requested an American Horror Story Season 10. While Landgraf noted that Murphy recently signed a big deal with Netflix, he said Muprhy is still committed to his projects at FX.

“He has been really prolific; he has been an important part of the FX brand, and he will continue to be a very important part of the FX brand,” Landraf told Deadline.

Landraf was also asked if American Horror Story Season 10 will be its last, and offered that the eigth season is “awesome and crazy.”

“I don’t know,” Landraf said. “A lot of that comes down to Ryan and whether he still feels inspired about it. I think the eighth cycle, which is currently in production, is awesome and crazy, and I think the fans will really like it. Part of what’s cool about American Horror Story is its anthology nature. So it comes down to whether Ryan and his collaborators, like (showrunner) Tim Minear, could come up with stories that they are excited about.”

Regarding the “awesome and crazy” American Horror Story Season 8, which premiers September 12, it’s known the official title is American Horror Story: Apocalypse and deals with the anti-christ baby, now grown up (Michael Landon being played by Cody Fern), who Vivian (Connie Britton) gave birth to in the first season, fathered by Tate Landon (Evan Peters), with Constance Landon (Jessica Lange) having took the baby.

Returning for American Horror Story Season 8 also includes Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson and newcomer Joan Collins.
