Earlier in the month saw it become known that Keri Russell was in talks for a role in Star Wars: Episode IX, but with Disney officially announcing the cast today, Russell’s name was absent.
The good news is that Keri Russell has officially joined the movie as numerous Hollywood trade sites have confirmed she is in Star Wars: Episode IX, with the reason being she wasn’t named due to her simply not signing the contract by the time Disney wrote up the press release.
Keri Russell’s role is unknown, but said to involve heavy action and fight scenes, which the actress is no stranger to following The Americans and Mission Impossible.

Star Wars: Episode IX has a December 2019 release directed by J.J. Abrams and also starring Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Carrie Fisher will be back as Leia, Richard E. Grant in an unknown role, and Naomi Ackie is also new to the trilogy in another undisclosed role.
