Despite earlier rumors, the J.J. Abrams-produced Overlord movie doesn’t appear connected to the Cloverfield films (at least it isn’t saying so at first).
Check out the trailer below, which doesn’t come with a lot of information other than what is shown in the footage, but it does reveal WWII paratroopers finding a Nazi experiment in France featuring what looks to be the undead and some sort of supernatural forces.
It’s not a bad trailer and uses AC/DC’s “Hell’s Bells,” but it does come off a lot like the Call of Duty Black Ops Zombies games or Resident Evil.
I even produced and released a low-budget zombie flick, which looks a lot like it (Beyond the Call of Duty – watch on Amazon Prime!).
Overlord has an October 26, 2018 release directed by Julius Avery and stars Agents of SHIELD‘s Iain De Caestecker and Bokeem Woodbine, Wyatt Russell, Pilou Asbæk, Jacob Anderson, Hélène Cardona, John Magaro, Jovan Adepo and Éva Magyar.
