Following the official announcement that Wonder Woman 1984 has started filming, the DCEU rumors are flying including that the Matt Reeves The Batman movie will feature a young Caped Crusader.
It’s rumored that this past Memorial Day weekend saw Matt Reeves turn in his script for The Batman movie, which is said to focus on a younger version of the character.
While there have been rumors that Ben Affleck has signed on a new three-picture deal, according to the new information from the Hollywood trade sites, Ben Affleck is unlikely to don the cowl ever again.
Interestingly enough, when I was the first to release the title of the film being The Batman way back in 2012, I was also told it would feature a younger version of the character. I was actually told this information years ago, prior to the release of Man of Steel, with it said The Batman would feature a younger Batman in his second year of being a hero and be an origin story. I was also told the movie could involve / center around Arkham Asylum. Obviously, this is six years later, so a lot could have changed involving the story, but the title is correct, and now it’s said to feature a young Bruce Wayne.
While no release date has been announced, Matt Reeves could begin filming at the end of the year if the script is finished and they have ideas for casting. If not, look for The Batman to film in 2019.
