Andrew Lincoln is leaving The Walking Dead following Season 9.
It’s also reported Andrew Lincoln will have a limited role in The Walking Dead Season 9.
Collider broke the news with it mentioned that the actor will only be appearing in half-a-dozen episodes of the upcoming season.
It’s further said that AMC is now offering Norman Reedus a substantial amount to stay with the series and take over as the show’s lead. According to the report, Reedus is going nowhere and will remain on with the series.
Update: It’s being reported that Andrew Lincoln wants to focus on movies, that Norman Reedus is getting paid $20 million to say on, and that Lauren Cohan is exiting the series.
Following the departure of Chandler Riggs, Andrew Lincoln recently stated he was thinking of leaving the series, and he has been long rumored to want out of the show.
In addition to Lincoln having a limited role in The Walking Dead Season 9, it’s said that Lauren Cohan will also be appearing in only six episodes of the coming season as she is starring in the new ABC series Whiskey Cavalier.
The Walking Dead has been mired in controversy as of late as it was said Chandler Riggs was fired from the show, and in addition, the show’s producers – including Robert Kirkman – are suing the AMC network for monies owed. Lauren Cohan also held out of coming back as she wanted to be paid as much as her male counterparts.
Andrew Lincoln is a member of the original cast and plays Rick Grimes, who is still featured in The Walking Dead comics.
