Marvel Studios is moving forward on an Eternals movie franchise as the writers on the film are announced.
Newcomers Matthew and Ryan Firpo will pen the Eternals script, which is an adaptation of the Jack Kirby-created characters.
In the comics, the Eternals were created by the all powerful Celestials who experimented on early humans creating the two races, the Eternals, and an off-shoot, the Deviants, and giving them cosmic powers. As seen in The Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos is an Eternal with a mutant Deviants gene, which is the reason why Thanos looks the way he does, as the Eternals look human. The writers on Infinity War revealed details about a cut scene involving the Eternals of Titan.
The Eternals are made up of numerous characters with some being Ikaris, Sersi and Thena, all of whom have various cosmic powers including near-immortality, the ability to fly, superhuman strength, speed, stamina, durability, and reflexes.
The Firpos wrote a movie titled Ruin, which is in pre-production with Assassin’s Creed director Justin Kurzel attached to direct and starring Wonder Woman‘s Gal Gadot. The film is about an ex-Nazi captain who navigates the ruins of post-WWII Germany determined to atone for his crimes during the war by hunting down the surviving members of his former SS Death Squad.
