Disney has been receiving a lot of backlash in regards to Han Solo, especially following the big time failure of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
The latest controversy saw an actor come out and talk about the problems surrounding the movie as well as Harrison Ford’s replacement, Alden Ehrenreich, struggling with the role.
However, it may not be all doom and gloom for Han Solo.
Robert Meyer Burnett, an editor, writer and director, who has worked on Star Trek projects and the Femme Fatale TV series, took to Twitter to offer that he heard Han Solo is actually good:
“Folks, a very trusted friend who saw #SOLO in a very unfinished state at a ‘Friends and family’ screening said it was really good, had everything you wanted to see (even how the Falcon interior got so dirty) and even Alden Ehrenreich does a fine job.”
Burnett did go on to offer his friend found at least one thing wrong with the flick:
In fact, the only criticism he had of #SOLO was there’s no way Alden Ehrenreich could ever be Harrison Ford, yet he has his own take on the character, although the secondary cast is so fun (Lando and Chewie specifically), Ehrenreich is sometimes overshadowed.
Burnett also has some words of wisdom for the fanboys out there who are hoping that the Han Solo movie fails.
That’s modern fandom in a nutshell. Wanting something to fail is absurd. I have no problem bitching about work AFTER you’ve seen it (as long as you have cogent criticism), but you betray your bias, idiocy and intellectual dishonesty if you WANT other’s hard work to fail.
