Sister Maggie joins Marvel’s Daredevil Season 3, and it’s learned the series returns this year!
Marvel announced that Joanne Whalley, known for the Edge of Darkness, has been cast in Marvel’s Daredevil Season 3 as Sister Maggie, a strong-willed nun who speaks her mind and cares deeply about Matt’s safety.
Joanne Whalley joins the returning cast including Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), and it has also been announced that Vincent D’Onofrio reprises his popular role as Wilson Fisk.
“We are big fans of Joanne’s work and are fortunate that someone of her caliber will be joining our already talented family,” said Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Television in a statement.
“Joanne is a rare talent and a terrific creative collaborator,” added Erik Oleson, the new showrunner for Marvel’s Daredevil Season 3, and executive producer. “Watching her bring her role to life has the writers all pinching ourselves.”
Marvel’s announcement about Joanne Whalley joining the cast also noted all episodes of the first and second seasons of Marvel’s Daredevil are currently streaming on Netflix, with Season Three slated for release later this year.
