Assuming everything goes according to plan and Wonder Woman is a box office success (which it looks to be), a sequel for Wonder Woman will be made.
Now it’s learned that director Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot are both signed on for Wonder Woman 2.
The news comes from THR which also reveals Wonder Woman 2 will be set in modern times.
And if it all goes according to plan, Jenkins is more than ready to return to the character for a contemporary-set Wonder Woman sequel (she and Gadot are contractually committed to a second film).
Patty Jenkins also talked about a potential Wonder Woman sequel last week.
“It’s definitely something I’m very, very, very interested,” Jenkins said. “I love what we’ve created and I love the team that I worked with doing it and these actors so much that, yeah, we’re all very excited to talk about continuing forward together. I think it’s very important that she goes on to be a very international superhero. I can’t wait to bring her to America as well.”
Wonder Woman is now in theaters and Gal Gadot will next be seen in Justice League.
