James Gunn and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has now passed the $500 million mark.
Over at Box Office Mojo, the current worldwide box office gross for Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is $501,797,966 (not including today).
$175,997,966 of that is from the U.S, with foreign box office receipts making up $325,800,000.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has only been open for about a week in the U.S. and is well ahead of the first movie, which at this time brought in $126,759,442–a near $50 million difference in favor of the sequel.
I liked Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and might even go see it a second time. I watched it in 3D the first time around, which was like putting on a pair of sun glasses as it really dimmed the movie’s bright colors, so I might go check it out in 2D in it’s normal viewing. I also really liked what Gunn did with Ego, Yondu and Star-Lord.
