For fans of Marvel Cosmic, we’re all in for a big treat when The Avengers: Infinity War gets released next year.
Not only will it feature the Avengers meeting up with the Guardians of the Galaxy, but Josh Brolin’s Mad Titan, Thanos, will be kicking a lot of ass!
Now we might also see Death!
While some fans online are actually speculating Cate Blanchett’s Hela in Thor: Ragnarok might actually be the MCU version of Death, Collider caught up with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and asked if we can expect to see Death as a character in The Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers 4.
Feige happened to be pretty mum on the subject, but Feige did offer a hint in that Thanos will be similar to what went down in Jim Starlin’s epic Infinity Gauntlet graphic novel.
“[His motives] will be similar to what they were in the Infinity Gauntlet in various ways. I guess that’s all I can say about that.”
Starlin’s Infinity Gauntlet graphic novel was one of the first cosmic stories I had ever read, and I was sold just from the cover! I actually just reread it last month and even introduced my 12-year-old son to it, who liked it as well.
I’m guessing the Avengers: Infinity War movies won’t be a strict adaptation of Infinity Gauntlet, the MCU never is, but similar to the other Marvel movies will be a big inspiration.
I remember one of the Silver Surfer Infinity Gauntlet tie-ins featured Thanos killing all the Marvel heroes–I wouldn’t mind seeing that go down on the big screen!
The Avengers: Infinity War hits May 4, 2018!
