James Gunn Teases Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Post-Credit Scenes

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is confirmed to have a post credit scene (or scenes).

Director James Gunn took to Twitter to offer up that fans better stay seated during the credits!

“All I’ll say is, unless you have to rush out because your mother is dying, stay through the entire end credits,” Gunn tweeted.

Possible Guardians of the Galaxy 2 post-credit scenes could be for Thor: Ragnarok and The Avengers: Infinity War or maybe even Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The recent Infinity War featurette (watch below) features Robert Downey Jr., Tom Holland and Chris Pratt. The Guardians of the Galaxy will be a part of The Avengers: Infinity War, so it’s possible the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 post-credit scene could lead into that.

Another possibility is that the next Marvel Studios movie following Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is Spider-Man: Homecoming. While it doesn’t seem as if Spidey would fit with the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 movie, it could always be some sort of standalone teaser to further promote Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Of course with the Hulk going COSMIC in Thor: Ragnarok, a potential Guardians of the Galaxy 2 post-credit scene could have something to do with the third Thor movie. Interestingly enough, the Planet Hulk animated movie features Guardians of the Galaxy Easter Eggs, so some sort of nod to Thor: Ragnarok in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 would be pretty cool.

I’ll even throw out another name for a possible Guardians of the Galaxy 2 post-credit scene: Doctor Strange. Stephen Strange could be the COSMIC glue that binds the MCU. Doctor Strange already appeared with Thor, teasing Loki and Odin for Thor: Ragnarok, so having Doctor Strange connected to the Guardians of the Galaxy would be a way of possibly bringing them to Earth for Avengers: Infinity War (if the MCU goes that route).

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has a May 5, 2017 release directed by James Gunn starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn. New cast members include Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell.

Set to the all-new sonic backdrop of Awesome Mixtape #2, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” continues the team’s adventures as they unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage.
