With Star Wars: Rogue One now out, fans are even more excited for Star Wars: Episode VIII which will see Mark Hamill back as the Jedi Master, Luke Skywalker.
So just when is Disney going to release the Star Wars: Episode VIII trailer? It's learned Star Wars: Episode VIII footage will drop in the Spring.
"Pretty soon. We're giving this a bit of breathing room, and then probably heading into Spring, you'll start to see things," Kathleen Kennedy said regarding when we'll see Star Wars: Episode VIII footage.

This Spring marks Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida, which takes place April 13-16. It's probably safe to say that Disney will show off the Star Wars: Episode VIII trailer at the event or definitely at least the first footage.
Another possibility is that Disney could show off the first Star Wars: Episode VIII footage at Star Wars Celebration and then release the Star Wars: Episode VIII trailer with the May 5th release of James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Disney also has their live action Beauty and the Beast slated for March 17th, so I wouldn't rule out Star Wars: Episode VIII footage for that as Beauty and the Beast is expected to be pretty big draw (currently has the second most viewed trailer in history).
It's also possible Disney could drop the official Star Wars: Episode VIII title at Star Wars Celebration.
"Star Wars: Episode VIII" has a December 15, 2017 release directed by Rian Johnson starring Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac and Benicio Del Toro.
