Review: Green Lantern Emerald Warriors #9

Tomasi continues the breakneck pace that the War of The Green Lanterns is known for — but he also brings some thunderous surprises of his own, pushing Part Six as the forerunner for best issue yet!

The four earth Lanterns, now a collection of uncontrollable colors, must overcome their ever growing distaste for one another long enough to save the entire Green Lantern Corps from the diabolical Krona. Simple right? These are the four strongest Lanterns after all. Sure, but before they even get close to Krona, they have to pull Parallax from the central power battery, save Ganthet from being killed from the enslaved Corps, evade Mogo's ever present sight and learn to control their tempers long enough to master their new power rings. That's enough to test the mettle of even the most hardened Lantern! Plus, while smashing through the very core of Oa in order to regroup and formulate a plan — they find another threat. One that may either crush our heroes or possibly give them the very weapon they need to save their friends and fellow warriors.

Tomasi and the slick, stylistic lines of Pasarin, come together to create an over the top tale of all out war. There is no sugar coating or fluff here, this is a tale of pure unadulterated battle. It is a barrage of in your face fisticuffs that is laced with in-fighting, intrigue and some serious surprises that could shake the history of the Green Lantern Corps to it's very foundations! Not only are we given glimpses of Guardian secrets but we finally get to see how they are handling their bond with the entities -Spoiler Alert- it's not good!

Bravo to the entire creative team for weaving a thrilling, engaging story within the confines of a raging battle. Though quick paced, we didn't lose any sense of a continuing under story of secrets and revelations, something that has been missing in other issues of the crossover. This issue has been the best so far and I can only see it getting better.
