Green Lantern: The Animated Series continues to treat its characters with a real maturity that amazes me, and the computer animation is so slick it is a wonder to behold.

“Razer’s Edge” concentrates on the captive Red Lantern of Hal Jordan and Kilowog as they seek out a jail in the nether regions of the universe for Razer to occupy. Unfortunately, things are not all they seem at the Spider Alien-ran facility as Razer soon discovers.

No, these jailers first make their captives relive their worst memories over and over and over again – and then the warden and guards eat their prisoners!

Razer, a rogue Red Lantern at best, has an even sadder back story than we learned in the initial movie. His is a life of constant sacrifice and self-justice, and that is a quality Hal Jordanrecognizes in him from the start — although he has yet to know it.

Aya, the computer of the Lantern uber-ship, plays a huge role in this episode, and it is most welcome. We learn that “she” is more than just a ship A.I., and her relationship with Razer will be most interesting in the future because they now both share Razer’s common memories.

I could not be happier with how Cartoon Network and the DC Nation block are handling my favorite superhero. I cannot wait to see what is to come and what will happen when Atrocitus finds out a Red Lantern (with ring in hand) is working with two Green Lanterns!
