Superman Man of Steel 2013: Tahmoh Penikett Cast As Metallo From Justice League Doom?

Superman Man of Steel 2013: Tahmoh Penikett Cast As Metallo From Justice League Doom?

[[wysiwyg_imageupload:4249:]]Back in March it became known that Tahmoh Penikett had been cast in the new Superman movie, Man of Steel, with it thought that the Battlestar Galactica actor may be playing the DC Comics character, Damage.

However, the Man of Steel iMDB listing has been updated revealing Tahmoh Penikett as Henry Ackerdson.

A character of a similar name, Henry Ackerson (minus the d”), was featured in the Justice League Doom animated movie — as Metallo.

What actually happened was Metallo took over Ackerson’s body, a former employee of the Daily Planet, and tricked Superman, shooting him with a Kryptonite bullet, with the members of the Justice League eventually saving Superman’s life.

While it’s obvious no coincidence that Zack Snyder chose such a similar name, will we see Tahmoh Penikett as Metallo?

This isn’t the first we have heard of Metallo as it’s been said in the Man of Steel, the military will weaponize Metallo and use him against Superman, so it seems possible.

Then again, Penikett could just be another employee of the Daily Planet, but seeing how the actor does have an “action” background, the kryptonite-powered cyborg might be taking on the Man of Steel.

While we wait to see Tahmoh Penikett battle Superman, check him out on next week’s episode of Arrow.

Thanks to the Man of Steel Fan Facebook for the info.
