In addition to the Kevin Feige video, Marvel Studios has released a sound bite video with director James Gunn talking over six minutes about Guardians of the Galaxy 2.
Gunn talks about the direction of the sequel and when he came up with the plot, the background and shape of Peter Quill and Yondu, auditioning for Star-Lord and Chris Pratt, on Peter Quill’s father, on Kurt Russell, on Peter Quill’s feelings for Gamora and vice versa, on Karen Gillan’s Nebula and Thanos, on creating Mantis, screen testing Mantis and more.
“Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” has a May 5, 2017 release directed by James Gunn starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Michael Rooker and Sean Gunn. New cast members include Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Chris Sullivan and Kurt Russell.
