We’ve heard from J.J. Abrams who mentioned he will be moving to London at the end of the year to begin filming Star Wars: Episode VII.
Abrams was busy filming, wrapping and promoting Star Trek Into Darkness while the Star Wars: Episode VII details were finalized, but as of yet, J.J. hasn’t spoke to George Lucas.
Lucas sold the Star Wars rights to Disney, but is said to remain on in more of an advisory role, so it’s not that much of a surprise that the two haven’t communicated as of yet.
Perhaps when production kicks off, Abrams can pick Lucas’ mind in regards to the overall look and feel of various characters and the setting.
George Lucas told Access Hollywood the following:
I have not spoken to J.J. He’s been busy with Star Trek, and I’m sure that he’ll let me know when he’s got some questions. So, you know, that’s all going well. Kathy tells me it’s working out great.
Star Wars Episode VII has a 2015 release date directed by J.J. Abrams.
