Bryan Cranston Confirmed As Lex Luthor For Batman Vs. Superman. Again. New Details

Another report has surfaced stating Bryan Cranston has been cast as Lex Luthor in Batman Vs. Superman.

A podcast for AMC is stating Cranston is confirmed for the role.

The YouTube video has since been made private.

Just a couple days ago, an editor for AMC Movies stated he heard from sources Cranston had been cast in the role, so possibly the podcast could be where he received his info.

Update: The editor in question is now stating that the podcasters (of which his wife is a member) used the incorrect terminology as Cranston hasn’t officially been cast, but is just rumored and chalked it up to a “rookie” mistake.

Original article continues:

If you recall, Cosmic Book News was told Cranston was cast with the announcement to be made following the series finale to Breaking Bad.

Obviously that didn’t happen, and then we were told Cranston had changed his mind to do the Lyndon Johnson Broadway play which starts up around the same time filming on Batman Vs. Superman begins.

Unless it’s all smoke and mirrors, it looks doubtful that Cranston would be able to do both the Broadway play and Batman Vs. Superman due to the heavy schedule required for the play. More than likely the play would have one or two dark nights, which would make it extremely difficult for Cranston to fly in and out for Batman Vs. Superman, especially with it rumored Lex Luthor is the film’s main villain. I’ve actually been told Batman Vs. Superman will feature “the massive rise of Lex Luthor.”

However, a new detail regarding the play has come to light. Last weekend, AMC held a Breaking Bad marathon which included promos for Cranston’s play (see below). The official description for the video on YouTube reads:

STRICTLY LIMITED ENGAGEMENT

Another tidbit: We were previously provided information about a younger actor looked at for the role of Lex Luthor, and now I have new details. I was told it is someone who worked with Henry Cavill on The Tudors.
