It looks like we have our first look at Common as the Tattooed Man in Suicide Squad.
Check out screen grabs below from the subway scene. If we take a close look, it appears the villain is indeed covered in tattoos (via reddit).
Who is the Tattooed Man?
In DC Comics, The Tattooed Man has appeared in various iterations. The original Tattooed Man, Abel Tarrant, was a Green Lantern villain who used a special chemical called “tattoo ink” to bring his tattoos to life, turning them into solid objects with unique abilities.
Later, a new character named Mark Richards took on the mantle of the Tattooed Man. He had a different set of powers where he could manifest living tattoos that had a will of their own. These tattoos could move independently and perform various tasks based on their design.
The character has had different storylines and abilities across DC Comics, but the common thread is their ability to bring tattoos to life or manifest living tattoos with special abilities.
“Suicide Squad” has an August 5, 2016 release date directed by David Ayer starring Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Adam Beach as Slipknot, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Jay Hernandez as El Diablo, and Scott Eastwood in an unknown role.
