Four names have apparently risen to the top for the lead role in Star Wars: Episode VII.

According to Variety, multiple sources have filled them in that John Boyega, Jesse Plemons, Matthew James Thomas and Ray Fisher are up for the lead role of what’s thought to be a Jedi apprentice.

One of them looks to be taking on Adam Driver, who is close to signing as the villain.

John Boyega’s claim to fame is starring in Attack The Block for Joe Cornish.

Jesse Plemons was previously rumored and is known for Breaking Bad.

Matthew James Thomas is known for the Britannia High TV series with Ray Fisher a theater actor as well.

It’s noted in the report that delay in casting is due to J.J. Abrams wanting to diversify the cast with mention that is the reason David Oyewolo and Michael B. Jordan tested early on.

“Star Wars: Episode VII” has a December 18, 2015 release.
